Part of the work Kay has been involved in at Potts & Plants is within the community, and she has previously helped a local school in Cheltenham.
Children love to be outside and have an innate sense of curiosity in the world. Using and maintaining the school outside space with them, helps create understanding of how biodiversity works for the natural world, but encourages learning about the important values of protecting the environment.
Learning how seeds grow by planting them within class and looking after them during the weeks and months to come, potting on seedlings and then planting them outside as crops, ensure the children are taught a sense of ownership, pride and responsibility.
Please contact Kay if you are interested in getting involved in any community projects and would like some guidance (consultation fees would apply).
